Once Upon a Time Breakaway
Lily of the Valley Once Upon ~a ~ Time Wilderness Adventures - Flora & Fauna
Your accommodations are in a cabin nestled in the woods called The Backpack Inn. The cabin sleeps 12 people in twin bunkbeds. If your group has more than 12 people, overflow will be housed in the Room With A View. We provide pillows and pillowcases and bottom fitted sheets. You must bring a sleeping bag or warm blankets. There is woodstove heat, air conditioning, and electric outlets. There is a full kitchen in the Backpack Inn with stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, sink, toaster for you to prepare your meals. The kitchen is furnished with dishes, glasses, mugs, utensils, pots and pans.

There's a shower house with four modern showers and private dressing rooms. Plenty of hot water. Bring your own towels. There are seven outhouses along a trail beside the cabins. Remember…this is rural Appalachia! If you don't know what an outhouse is… Google it!

There's a 1-mile hiking trail on the property with overlooks of the Little Tennessee River and The Grandmother Tree, a 500+ year old Eastern red cedar tree. Students are welcome to walk the trail any time during their free time.

The only cell phone service that works here is Verizon, but you can get service for all other carriers a few miles away from here when we are travelling to and from service sites. There is no Wi-Fi here.

Nearest grocery store, ATM, gas station, bank, post office, drug store, and laundromat are 9 miles away in Vonore. Nearest hospital is Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville 20 miles away.
