A typical alternative break week includes the following educational programs and activities:
  • Cherokee storyteller
  • Play a Cherokee ball game called "The Fish Game"
  • Traditional mountain music on Friday night at Rocky Branch Community Club
  • 2-Mile Hike in Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest to see old growth forest
  • Interpretive hike on Once Upon A Time 1-mile hiking trail
  • Indian beading supplies will be provided for you to make jewelry
  • Forest rangers will give educational talks during lunch and rest breaks
  • Tour of Sequoyah Museum and educational talk about Sequoyah
  • Each student will receive a 36-page education notebook upon arrival
  • Make and can blackberry jam
